Maintenance Supervisor- Philadelphia

Our client is a multi-billion-dollar food and beverage manufacturer. They have a new opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor at their Philadelphia plant.

Job Function:

Manage the everyday operation and upkeep of the equipment and building; planning and implementing projects and safety issues within and around the plant.

Job Duties:

Manages day-to-day activities of a team of direct reports.

Communicates daily with Maintenance Manager, identifies problem areas, and looks for appropriate solutions.

Checks the efficiency of the machines by collecting information from the machine operators, as well as checking them personally.

Supports operational departments by maintaining equipment; and resolves mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities at the department’s request.

Establishes and maintains a positive work environment, including, but not limited to, personal development, training, and safety.

Compiles safety norms related to the equipment, and makes sure that the team is meeting the expected safety norms.

Analyzes maintenance work orders, and assigns maintenance personnel to complete all necessary orders.  Follows up with the assigned personnel as needed until the order is complete.

Gives technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel as needed.

Designs preventative maintenance systems.

Directs and assists in the installation of new equipment.

Plans and executes projects in conjunction with what is assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Controls inventories, parts ordering, and vendor communication.  Focuses on improving operations and improving costs.

Assists in scheduling of the maintenance team to ensure projects are completed.

Supports SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.

Supports continuous improvements of its food safety management systems.

Serves as backup to those employees in leadership roles within the Maintenance department.

Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Skills/Qualifications:

Ability to supervise employees.

Knowledge of the standard methods, principles, practices, tools, and equipment of the maintenance trade.

Education and Experience:

An Associate or BA in Degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in plant operations, engineering, or maintenance.

5+ years’ experience in high-volume fluid-dairy manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:

Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 6 hours)

Sitting: Occasionally for long periods

Walking: Frequently

Bending: Occasionally

Twisting of Spine: Occasionally

Lifting: Light (less than 30lbs) infrequently distance- 100 ft.

Pushing/ Pulling: under 75lbs without assistance infrequently

Special Requirements:

50-60-hour work week

Ability to work weekends and holidays
