Our client is a family-owned, food ingredient manufacturer.  The Company has developed a portfolio of natural flavors and tropical ingredients for the food and beverage industry.  With growing worldwide demand for all natural products, the Company is expanding its sales reach in both the U.S. and Canada, as well as international markets.

Position:  Production Manager

Reports to:  Director of Operations, Direct reports:  2 Warehouse Workers

The Production Manager coordinates operations with other team members. This individual works as part of a team to coordinate Company operations and complete workflows according to schedule. The Production Manager accepts orders, enters them into the warehouse database, and keeps track of how much of each type of item or material is in stock.  The Production Manager, in unison with the Director of Operations, controls the day to day production schedule with regard to prioritizing orders for production.   This individual also works with logistics to coordinate timely shipment of completed materials.

Education:

Associate degree.  Certification in the operation of a forklift truck is not necessary but would be considered a plus.

Job Duties:

Collecting merchandise from the distribution center and safely transporting materials to the shipping bay
Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return.
Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.
Instructing warehouse personnel on their daily functions
Ensuring that warehouse personnel keep up with the production schedule.
Managing all merchandise with appropriate care
Assisting with training of newly employed workers.
Managing warehouse inventory and keeping records of the inventory.
Working with logistics department to ensure swift shipment upon completion of orders
Responding to and resolving complaints and problems
Working with an in-house sales team to improve the processing of customers’ orders
Managing the process of scheduling the repair and maintenance of the organization’s vehicles
Involved in product transport
Monitoring cargo movement processes
Using a computer to track product shipments across multiple channels
Approving delivery and picking up timesheets
Ensuring food safety documentation is completed

Skills and Experience:

Prior experience working/running a warehouse
Knowledge of operating a forklift
Ability to work on feet for 8 hours and carry loads of up to 80 pounds
Ability to work independently and safely
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good working knowledge of the consumer goods industry
Management skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Good time-management skills
Experience working with electronic data responsibilities.
Good coordination and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and people skills
Familiar with laws, regulations and ISO requirements as they apply to logistics
Good decision-making skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
