Maintenance Manager

Our client is a multi-billion-dollar food and beverage manufacturer. They have a new opportunity for a Maintenance Manager at their Philadelphia plant.

Job Summary:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.

Establishes and maintains a positive work environment, including personnel policy development, training safety, and housekeeping.

Communicates directly with the QA laboratory to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.

Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.

Supports operational departments by maintaining equipment and resolving mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities at the department’s request.

Directs and assists in the installation of new equipment.

Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.

Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.

Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.

Initiates, implements and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the dairy industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Develop and complete capital projects within the plants and provide assistance to the plants on in-plant projects and operational improvements.

Develop, coordinate, and supervise capital improvement projects.

Ensure that assigned projects at the locations are designed and executed in conformance with sound engineering principles.

Advise and recommend procedures and changes on capital projects, plant maintenance, and repairs to improve operations and control operating costs.

Education and Experience: 

Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering field(s) of study (if applicable)

Or 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

or high school diploma or GED and 7 years of related experience
