Quality Software Administrator

Position Summary

The Quality Software Administrator is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all software programs related to Quality Assurance systems utilized within the company, Production and Fulfillment sites. This role is instrumental in the development and management of key software programs that provides a portal for effective communication and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the company In this role this person will be the super user and go to person for everyone including vendors. This role reports directly to the Director of Quality and Food Safety within the Technical Services Team.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

  • Contribute to the entire implementation process for new Quality Assurance software and enhancements to existing applications
  • Contribute to overall design of system modules to meet the companies procedures and requirements
  • Collaborate with software companies and the companies’ IT group as appropriate during development and implementation
  • Work as a member of a cross functional team to ensure that software is implemented as intended through testing within test environments
  • Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of Technical Services and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution to functionality concerns, bugs and glitches
  • Assist in the definition and implementation of Technical Services Quality program policies and procedures as it translates to software design
  • Write application user procedures and manuals as appropriate
  • Assist with system validation of functionality as needed
  • Organize and plan testing across several projects simultaneously
  • Manage system user access for new employees and removes employee access as appropriate to meet IT Security requirements
  • Train new users on the systems as needed
  • Monitor and implement upgrades and enhancements to software and features as they become available
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators and communicates to Leadership for continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience working in electronic Quality Management System software
  • 3 years of experience working in a Software Administrator role
  • Strong understanding of software development, software testing types, techniques, and principles
  • Experience with one of these electronic Quality Management System software: such as ETQ Reliance, Master Control, Trace Gains, Infinity QS , Redline
  • Work independently working in software applications
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English orally and in writing with coworkers
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Shows initiative and able to work as part of a team; communicates effectively
  • Excellent organization and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience working in SAP, AS400 or similar ERP inventory management system
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control Software
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance systems such as CAPA, Document Control, Training, etc.
  • Familiar with Access databases helpful
  • Certification in Software Testing or development

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
  • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
