Our client is known around the world as the founder of non-dairy food products and the leading supporter and solutions provider to the Food Service, In-Store Bakery and Retail marketplaces. They are one of the world’s premier family-owned food companies with more than $3B in sales. They currently have a new opportunity for a Senior Sensory Analyst at their location in upstate New York.

SUMMARY:

The Senior Sensory Analyst develops objective-driven, actionable sensory and consumer testing strategies; and applies scientifically sound basic and advanced sensory test methods and statistical designs. Develops advanced sensory methods and best practices. Manages and conducts routine and complex sensory experiments and evaluations to support product development and maintenance. Applies basic and advanced statistical designs and data analysis tools in Sensory research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides strategic and routine sensory support for key R&D, marketing and other business customers.

Provides actionable solutions to a wide range of difficult sensory problems by applying basic and advanced technical knowledge and extensive experience.

Designs and executes sensory and consumer tests.

Sets up the test by using DOE methods, Compusense Cloud Sensory testing software and performs statistical analysis via statistical computer programs, including SAS.

Leads, trains, and mentors technicians. Provides technical advice to others within specialty.

Provides actionable recommendations to various groups, both internally and externally.

Works with outside universities, ingredient suppliers, and sensory testing vendors as needed by project activity.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors’ degree in Food Science.

Minimum of 4 years’ job-related experience.

Strong knowledge in statistical design and data analysis.

Ability to create spreadsheets, computer analysis, report writing. – Proficient with relevant software tools:  CompuSense Cloud, SAS, SPSS, Minitab, Excel, Word, Power Point, XLSTAT.

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent interpersonal skills.
